The prosess of making the branding personal
All my branding projects start with a questionnaire, where the client needs to answer questions about their business. Everything from how it started to their current struggles to their future goals. This is crucial for me to create design attributes that attract the people the client wants to work with. But also to support the goals.
The work with this questionnaire is also helpful for the client. It will nail down the process of their business and give insights that will help them communicate with their ideal clients better, not only via their new branding.
A logo with personal meaning
When Amber had filled out the questionnaire, the biggest question was “a bear, or not a bear?”
Bears personally mean a lot to her and her family, but she was unsure if it was something that could fit her logo.
Mainly because it’s not so unusual to have a bear in your logo when you are a family photographer.
We discussed this, and I’m a big fan of incorporating personality in the logos I create. But the personal attribute also needs to be linked to the business and something that speaks to the ideal clientele.
And for this project, a logo made for a maternity, newborn, and family photographer, what is not more suitable than a “Mama Bear”?
