The 3 factors of a Successful Instagram Post

As soon as you post on Instagram you pray a silent prayer that the likes and comments should start rain over your post.
And many times we end up disappointed that our posts didn’t get the engagement that we hoped for. Right?
But to get engagement, you need to give your followers reasons to engage with you. This is done with three factors. 
Let me show you the 3 factors of a Successful Instagram Post!

Give your post a reason for attention

Millions of posts are posted on Instagram daily. When you scroll through your own feed I bet you just scroll by a lot of posts and that you click for a like only on a few of them? 

And when it comes to leaving a comment? When was the last time you did that?

With this in mind, we know that in order to have someone engaging with a post, we need to get their attention!

This will be done with help of three factors, where they all work together in order to increase your engagement.

The first factor

The first thing your followers see is the picture of your post. And this is alos the factor.
The days with bad photos from our phones with an added filter ARE GONE!

As we read pictures 200 times faster than text, you can just imagine how important the picture is .

And this can be a bit tricky. I don’t want to say that you shouldn’t use any picture from your phone. But if you aim for having a more professional appearance, I would recommend that you edit it before posting (there are so many good presents out there)

If you feel that this is nothing you can manage, use Stock Photos. I use HauteStock all the time, even if I’m a photographer (you can read more about it here)

But it doesn’t always have to be a photo, it can be a quote or any other graphics or educational post cover that we now see in our feeds. 

Still feeling confused… Go to your own feed and scroll, what kind of pictures are grabbing your attention and give you the feeling you want your followers to have when they see yours?

The second factor

Ok, the picture got your followers attention. But sadly, they won’t just stop because of the picture.
And it’s here the second factor come in.

The picture will just give them enough time to read the first sentence of your caption. 

And this caption HAS TO BE GOOD! Cause you want them to click on the read more link. To read the whole caption.

These first sentences is also called “the attention grabber”. Good name, isn’t it?

This sentence have to get them curious or giving them a feeling that you are speaking directly to them.

It can be something like “Let me confess …” “To all travel lovers….” “I will tell you a true story…”

The third factor

When you now have your followers attention and their curiosity so that they have read your whole caption.

Then what?

Well, it’s now you want them to engage! 

The third factor is making an entrance at the very end of your post. 

Cause if you want engagements for your post you need to tell them to do just that, engage! 

You need to end your caption with a Call to Action (CTA). A sentence that encourages a comment, like or whatever you want them to do. 

For an example “What do you prefer, coffee or Tea?”, “Leave your favourite emoji if you agree”, “Where would you love to travel next time?”, “Have a look at the link in my bio” 

One important thing to remember is that it should be easy. Do not ask for something that will take a lot of effort to execute.

The first two rows in a post needs to give your followers a feeling that they just have to read more.

CALL TO ACTION (CTA)
Tell them what to do!
They won’t do it unless you tell them to do something specific!
